Shaping America’s Youth (SAY), is a public/private partnership, with the intent of providing a national forum open to all organizations, programs, and individuals committed to improving the physical activity levels and nutrition of our nation’s infants, children, and adolescents. In support of that effort, Shaping America’s Youth has established a web portal providing open access to a current national database; will promote local, regional and national dialogues and common language that cross all sectors; will guide the creation of The People's Plan: A Community-based Plan of Action to Improve Childhood Nutrition and Activity; and will advocate for collaboration, coordination, and documentation in the application of national standards for programs and initiatives addressing the health crisis posed by physical inactivity and unhealthy eating by our children. The ultimate goal of Shaping America’s Youth is to accelerate the processes that are required to reduce the prevalence of excess weight and inadequate physical activity in children and adolescents.
As a national coalition, Shaping America's Youth invites the participaton of all individuals and organizations that share the goal of improving the health of our nation's children.
